Major East Coast airports slowly resume service
Airlines at Chicago’s two major airports have canceled 215 flights largely due to a blizzard threatening down on the East Coast. The major airlines meant to resume service at all airports throughout the region by Monday, though about 700 flights have been canceled for then. If the phone lines are jammed, try the airline’s overseas numbers.

Travel bans in New York City and Baltimore have lifted with some restrictions, and limited flight service to airports might begin later in Sunday afternoon, but it’s likely they will realistically remain closed according to USA airport authorities.
Travelers should check the status of their flights with their specific airlines for more details, the department said. Several trains scheduled to depart Washington D.C. for New York City were canceled.
Amtrak also canceled or cut back on service.
Dozens of flights across the Bay Area have been cancelled as the Midwest and East Coast are being pummelled by a deadly blizzard that has killed 11 people and left thousands without power this weekend.
“Yeah, anything that was going into Washington, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, anything like that, they were all canceled”. As of late Friday night, American Airlines alone has issued waivers for 42 airports.

“It’s a domino effect with the airline industry so there’s a good chance with the ongoing weather that they’re expect through the weekend that we’ll see more cancellations here in Austin”, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport spokesman Jason Zielinski tells KEYE-TV of Austin.
