Major League Baseball Trade Rumors: Reds’ Johnny Cueto could be Astros’ top target

When Cueto was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning, he showed a rare burst of anger. After Sunday’s loss, Price held a 30-minute clubhouse meeting.

The Reds were outscored 22-3 in the final two games of the first half.

“It would have been a lot better to play better these last two games”.

“We tell Jeff’s story here in the museum, but technically didn’t represent the Reds in that All-Star Game, because he was a Dodger at that point”.

“That’s what happens when you’re where we are in the standings”, Price said.

“Those are some of the challenges we knew going in”, Price said. He knows that. That’s not typical Johnny to have that type of reaction. I can see the Yankees giving up Jacob Lindgren, Esmil Rogers, Danny Burawa, or Adam Warren in order to get Cueto. It’s okay, though, we’re going to do the heavy lifting for you each morning, and find the things you need to see from within the SB Nation baseball network as well as from elsewhere. “But the manager is the manager, and the manager has a chance to do things like that, and that’s what he’s going to do”.

Cincinnati enters the All-Star break with an underwhelming 39-47 mark, placing them in fourth in the National League Central and 15.5 games behind the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals.

“It hasn’t been a great first half, for a number of reasons”, Price said. We have to rally. “We’re hopeful we see a lot of those players come in, and reflect a little bit on their careers and how we tried to celebrate them here at the museum”, said Eckes.

They struggled to cash in off Haren (7-5), stranding seven runners in scoring position against the right-hander, and threatening in all but one inning he worked.

Reds All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier had two hits and an RBI but also made his 11th error, which allowed Miami to score two unearned runs. Two of the runs scored on a fielder’s choice which shortstop Eugenio Suarez threw wildly to home.

Sanchez is hitting. 258 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs in Double-A, and the Yanks should trade him while he has value. Casey McGehee went to opposite for a two-run double to right.

Haren was pleasantly surprised by the run support.

“I’m going to let that in God’s hands”, Cueto said.

There’s speculation both Cueto and Haren will be on the market as the trade deadline approaches. “I still wear my Cincinnati jersey”.

Cueto, 29, is 6-6 this season with a 2.73 ERA and 113 strikeouts while Leake, 27, is 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA and has fanned 79 batters on the campaign. He’ll be followed by Anthony DeSclafani and Cueto.
