Making their choices in South Carolina
Gowdy responded by demanding that Cruz “repudiate these dishonest and underhanded tactics”.

In the purported announcement, on a Facebook account called “Trey Gowdy Prayers”, the three-term upstate SC congressman said he’d made “a grave mistake” by backing Rubio.
Though there’s no concrete evidence that Cruz’s campaign has anything to do with the Facebook page, Gowdy said: “Unfortunately it appears that the campaign of Senator Ted Cruz may not place the same value on waging a contest based on the truth and facts”.
Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign sent a letter to local stations in SC and parts of Georgia asking them to pull an ad attacking its candidate.
“Friends, it is official, I have changed my mind”, stated the post falsely attributed to Gowdy.
After a disappointing New Hampshire primary performance, the Florida U.S. senator is looking for a strong finish in the state’s Republican presidential primary. However, as reported by AOL, a recent CBS poll revealed Rubio in the top spot and victor of the GOP debate. “May God bless the United States of America”.
This kind of deception is deplorable and nothing like it would be tolerated by this campaign.
As he did during Saturday night’s debate in Greenville, Rubio continues to face criticism from Cruz over his work with Democrats on a failed immigration bill. “If something works”, he said, “you should keep saying it over and over again, right?” In Iowa, the Cruz campaign passed around a CNN report on Ben Carson’s travel plans along with the suggestion that he might be pulling out of the race – a not-unreasonable analysis of the situation. “But I suppose they’d rather lie about fake Facebook pages than own up to his support for amnesty, missing the fight on Planned Parenthood funding, and surrendering to the courts on marriage”. “You can’t just make things up and he makes things up. It’s a very disturbing pattern”.
Marco Rubio carried a message to South Carolina: He is “at peace” with his failure in New Hampshire. A Public Policy Polling survey out Monday has Rubio tied with Cruzfor second place, both winning 18 percent support.

According to the Journal, Rubio’s campaign blames Cruz’s “operatives” for spreading the deceptive post.
