Malcolm-Jamal Warner thinks the continued effect of Bill Cosby’s massive scandal will change the impact of The Cosby Show on pop culture.

Bill Cosby, now accused by an estimated 50 women of rape and sexual molestation, is expected to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom Friday to answer a deposition filed by one of the accusers, Judy Huth, and her lawyer, Gloria Allred.

Not all of the former Cosby Show stars agree with Warner, though.

As fellow entertainers have increasingly denounced Cosby, his “Cosby Show” co-stars have expressed a range of more muted responses. Keshia Knight Pulliam, known for playing Rudy Huxtable on the show, said that the series is too important to too many people to be ruined by the scandal.

“I can say that, based upon the people that continuously approach me and talk about how it’s profoundly impacted their lives, I don’t feel you can take that back,” Pulliam, 36, stated.

“I can’t really speak on any of the allegations because obviously, I was not there”. What he’s done for comedy and television has been legendary and history-making. That’s the Bill Cosby I know.

He also said that he has been in touch with Cosby but declined to share what the pair discussed. “But it’s just a bad situation all around – for him, for his family, the women, their families, the legacy of the show”, he continued.
