Malik Monk Commits To UK
Kentucky now has the nation’s No. 2 overall recruiting class, trailing only Duke in the 247sports composite rankings, which combines all four major recruiting services.

Monk, an Arkansas native whose brother was a two-sport star for the Razorbacks, was planning to wait until the spring signing period to announce but instead pulled the trigger on the last day of college basketball’s early signing period. While United Kingdom always seemed to be first or second for Monk, Arkansas was always right there, too.
The addition of Monk gives Kentucky three top 10 players – Adebayo and Cypress Lakes (Katy, Texas) point guard De’Aaron Fox, who is ranked No. 7 overall. Five-star forward Wenyen Gabriel and four-star forward Sacha Killeya-Jones are also headed to Rupp Arena. “You have an elite point guard (Fox), elite shooting guard (Monk), really physical and athletic big man (Adebayo), a very versatile forward (Gabriel) and another skilled guy who is 6-10 (Killeya-Jones)”.
After all of this, Kentucky has the number one class in the country after signing 5 of the top 29 players in the country.
“One of the things I loved about this group is they all want to play together”, Calipari said. With the addition of Monk, Kentucky’s 2016 recruiting class has a complete starting five but will be joined by a few returnees from the 2015-2016 team. There’s nothing like a little SEC animosity in the morning to spice up the beginning of college basketball season. Great job. You may have out done yourself this time. “Kentucky is a great fit for me and I what I want to get out of my future”, Monk said.

“With so many great coaches and historical programs recruiting me, it has been a tough but fun process”.
