Man, 18, fatally stabbed in Wasaga Beach
Provincial police say the 18-year-old man from Bolton was killed in an apparent stabbing during an “altercation” near a Pizza Pizza around 10:35 on Saturday night.

The most recent occurred this morning on Main Street at around 3:30 a.m. It stopped, but when police approached and asked the driver to get out, he instead drove away, according to police. While details surrounding the death are few, police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Erick Tello Arias from Caledon. On Monday, police issued a call for witnesses to that incident to come forward.
They also do not believe the deaths are linked in any way to the Electric Elements Festival that was held in Wasaga Beach on the weekend in a parking lot near the main beach area.
OPP have reported another homicide in Wasaga Beach over the Victoria Day long weekend.
Mayor Smith says he won’t comment on the investigations until the OPP provides him with more information.
“Loss of life is always devastating”.
“It’s very tragic. This type of thing can happen anywhere, and the fact it’s happened in our community is shocking – it’s shocking to me, it’s shocking to the residents, it’s shocking to the visitors”.
Anyone with information about either incident is being urged to contact investigators at 705-429-3575 or 888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).

“It is my intention to meet with the OPP in the coming days to discuss the circumstances”, he said.
