Police in Eastpointe, Mich., said a 91-year-old man shot a suspect who tried to rob him in the parking lot of a Rite Aid pharmacy Monday morning. That’s when police say the elderly man told the 30-year-old suspect – who pointed some sort of weapon at him – that he had a license to carry.

Police responding to a report of shots fired found the accused robber had staggered across Gratiot and was near a tree in the Eastbrook Commons shopping center.
“The person who fired the shots is not under arrest and he’s cooperating with the investigation”, Keiser said.
The victim was exiting his vehicle around 10:15 a.m. and heading into the Rite Aid on Gratiot near Nine Mile when an unknown suspect in his late 20s approached, Sgt. Martin Campbell said.
According to WDIV, the elderly man began feeling uneasy when a man his 20s approached him in the parking lot of a Rite Aid in Eastpointe and pointed an unknown object at him. He remained hospitalized in police custody later in the day. His condition is not known, but he is responsive, according to investigators.
Keiser said police dont know what the object was that the suspect pulled out.
