“He would hit the child”.
As soon as Stevenson and her husband realized that the victim of the driver’s blows was an infant in a vehicle seat, they immediately called police.
According to reports by Emirates24/7, Cox kept hitting Jayceon using his hands while he was driving on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Radcliff, about 40 miles southwest of Louisville.
Cox told them he was taking the baby to visit one of his children for about an hour. Twist his hat and hit the child again.
‘He would swing and he was hitting so hard, the force was so hard, every time he’d do it, he would swerve over into the other lane, ‘ Stevenson told WDRB.
The baby was without breath or a pulse when cox returned him to his mother.
In another odd case of a father abusing a baby, in early July, Milwaukee dad Joshua Viane inexplicably squeezed his three-week-old daughter so tightly that he broke her ribs, then he shoved his finger down the baby’s throat, later telling police that he was acting on a unusual “urge”.
The coroner says Jayceon died Saturday night at Kosair just after 10:30 p.m. The official cause of death is inflicted traumatic injury to the head.
Family members said Cox did not live with Jayceon.
Jayceon was his mother’s only child.
Around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, detectives went to the Hardin County Detention Center, where Daniel Cox, 35, was being held on a charge of child abuse, to serve the father with a warrant charging him with murder.
