Man accused of killing 7 in New Jersey, Pennsylvania

The prosecutor says the same handgun was used in all the shootings.

Todd West, from Elizabeth, N.J., allegedly fired his first bullet in May in his hometown and his last earlier this week some 80 miles away in Pennsylvania.

On Monday, Allentown police arrested West and two accomplices, 23-year-old Kareem Mitchell from Newark, N.J., and 20-year-old Robert Jourdain from Easton, Pa. Police said evidence led them to the suspects and, after a foot chase, they apprehended the men.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli told the station that the shootings were random and the victims may not have known the killers.

West is now being held at Lehigh County jail in Allentown with a cumulative bail for multiple murder and weapon charges at $5.5 million, Park said. It was not clear whether they have attorneys.

West killed seven people in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including his cousin, between May and July, authorities said.
