Man arrested in rock-climbing marriage proposal says he did it for love
A California man got stranded on a cliff after proposing to his girlfriend via FaceTime from the top of Morro Rock.

Police arrested Banks and transported him to County Jail, where he was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor being under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance. For Michael Banks he risked his life to propose to his girlfriend. Scott Brennan is the publisher of this newspaper and founder of Access Publishing.
The good news, his girlfriend said yes. Knuckles said Friday that he didn’t know if the proposal was real only that Banks told “several people” during the rescue that he had asked for her hand in marriage. Aside from the fact that he’d proposed OVER FACETIME, the 27-year-old also thought it was a good idea to trespass on a massive rock, and then get stuck and require emergency rescue.
Unfortunately for Banks, the volcanic land form located off the coast of Morro Bay was declared a California Historical Landmark in 1968, making it illegal to climb.
Rescuers called in a helicopter, and Gailey descended by cable to hoist Banks from the narrow ledge, with the rotors spinning near the cliff and churning air from the blades battering both men.
“The gentleman will be billed for the chopper ride and other related costs”. The Morro Bay fire and police departments, as well as State Parks and Harbor Patrol, were on scene as well.
But hey, at least she said yes, bro.

In a statement, officials said: “We hope folks will choose to view it [Morro Rock] from below, saving themselves and our fire responders time and money and protecting everyone’s safety”.
