Police say Chou was formerly a researcher at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Charney has been dean at Mount Sinai since 2004. “I believe a supervisor-subordinate relationship at some point”, added Chief Ferry.
Mount Sinai officials confirmed that Chao was dismissed in 2010.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening. In a prepared statement, Dr. Kenneth Davis, president and CEO of Mount Sinai Health System said, “This is an extremely disturbing event. This is a police matter, and further question should be directed to the appropriate authorities”.
A judge granted an order of protection against Chao, who did not enter a plea and remains in jail on charges of attempted murder.
A former professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NY allegedly shot the dean of the institution and one other man Monday outside a deli in Chappaqua, N.Y. The injuries are not life-threatening.
Asked how common violent episodes were in Chappaqua, an upscale community in Westchester County, Officer Frank Hrotko, a spokesman for the Police Department, said, “Not very frequent”.

Lange’s deli is about a mile from the home of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton. “Everyone, a lot of people in the area go there, it’s a good delicatessen” added Meyer.
