A 26-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested Friday after, police said, he was seen on a clothing store video stealing $600 from a 93-year-old woman in a wheelchair.

Police said the Lopez was arrested Friday after being caught on surveillance video, CBS 2 New York’s Janelle Burrell reports. Police say Lopez has been charged with two counts of robbery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property.
Vasquez was shopping for slippers when Lopez reached into her bra and stole the cash, which was in an envelope.
Lopez allegedly walked up behind Vasquez, grabbed the envelope with $600 inside and and fled.
‘I just screamed, ‘run, run, he stole my money!’
“He only escaped because I have an injured hand”, she reportedly said.
“I’m sorry for what happened to you, I hope this makes you feel better” Cohen told Vasquez, a regular customer who comes in at least once a week. “I need it. because my husband died seven years ago, and I’m alone”. She said she planned to use the money to pay for her monthly bills and now worries about how she’ll get by.
“I just never would have imagined he would do that. Everything I have to pay for”, she told the Daily News. Surveillance cameras from inside the East Harlem clothing store captured the ruthless thief Wednesday afternoon.
