A Metropolitan Police spokesman said David Czerwonko, 26, of Clitherow Road, Brentford, has been charged with theft.
The beret has since been taken away by police as evidence.
The March for Europe was launched on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War with demonstrations in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Oxford and Cambridge.
The largest was in London and Izzard, who identifies as transgender, spoke to crowds about his belief that the United Kingdom should retain close ties to the bloc.
A man was wrestled to the floor by police after snatching Mr Izzard’s trademark pink beret when grappling with him in the street.
This is the moment Eddie Izzard had his beret stolen and gave chase wearing high heels as he marched at a pro-Europe protest.
Thousands of stubborn lefties marched on the capital in a bid to halt Brexit, despite the country having voted to leave the European Union in June.
The so-called March for Europe aimed to put pressure on the Government to delay activating Article 50, which will begin the formal process of Brtiain leaving the EU.
Columnist Owen Jones, Labour’s Chuka Umunna, co-leader of the Green Party Caroline Lucas, as well as comedian Josie Long, also attended the march.
The protestors, some carrying EU flags and others with faces painted in EU colours, carried placards with slogans like “Stop Brexit” and “We Need EU!”
