Man charged in Belgium with involvement in terrorist attacks

The Wall Street Journal also reports that Abdeslam met one of his childhood friends, Ali Oulkadi, at a café in Belgium the day after the attack to discuss what had transpired. Another, arrested Thursday, was charged Friday with “terrorist murders and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization”, the federal prosecutor’s office said. No details. Regarding Amri and Attouh, lawyer Xavier Carette said his client Amri was an unwitting accomplice who knew nothing about any role in attacks when he drove Salah Abdeslam back from Paris to Brussels on night of November.

A Brussels court has remanded Oulkadi, 31, in custody for another month.

In his first remarks during his trip to Paris, President Obama extended his condolences to the people of France and reaffirmed the United States’ solidarity with the country in the wake of the terror attacks that ravaged Paris just two weeks ago.

German prosecutors say they have arrested on illegal weapons charges a 34-year-old man who local media report was located as part of an investigation into the attacks in Paris.

Mr Martins insists that his client is innocent.

Abdeslam is known to have crossed into Belgium after the November 13 attacks and, along with Mohamed Abrini, seen with Abdeslam two days before the attacks, has been the subject of a massive worldwide manhunt.

The admission comes amid severe criticism of European intelligence agencies for failing to prevent the attacks, in which 130 died and hundreds were injured, despite having most of the attackers on the radar. The message also mentioned operations in the 10th, 11th and 18th arrondissements – but there was no attack in the 18th arrondissement, where Abdeslam is thought to have parked the Clio.

Another man, Salah Abdeslam, man was with his friend, but Ali O said he didn’t recognise him right away as he was wearing a hat.
