Man City raise Sterling bid to £40 million
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler says on Raheem Sterling should stay at Liverpool despite the fact that he has informed the club of his wish to leave and has rejected an extension.

As for Wilshere it’s said we will tempt Arsene Wenger with a £30milion initial move, but like all the speculation so far, there is absolutely nothing concrete to latch onto here that I can see.
I’m not a Liverpool supporter, but allow me to speak on your behalf, Kopites: You better know what you’re doing, Brendan Rodgers and company, because that is a lot of money to be passing up for, in my opinion, an overvalued asset.
Nevertheless, we take a look at how Liverpool could look to replace Sterling for nothing by signing Yevhen Konoplyanka and three big reasons why they should make that the case.
After speaking to the player, Rodgers then told reporters: “It is (about) perspective as well”.
Even his agent has been vocal regarding the situation saying that Sterling, who still has two years left in his current pact with the Reds, won’t be re-signing with the club even if they offered him a £900,000-a-week contract.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have rejected City’s second bid for Sterling.
Manchester City have made a second bid to land Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, with the figure of £40m apparently now being offered for the 20-year-old winger.
Sterling made 35 Premier League appearances this season, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.
Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
Liverpool are now in discussions with the Championship club over minor details regarding a sell-on fee should the defender subsequently leave Anfield in the future but those talks won’t affect the deal going through.
In their defense, Manchester City are in need to English players, and Liverpool FC are cleverly taking advantage of it knowing fully well that they have the best proven English talent in their ranks.
The Anfield club will supposedly accept the Citizen’s upped £40million deal for the England global according to the latest reports at talkSPORT.
