Man City’s Aguero charged with violent conduct

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been charged by the Football Association after appearing to elbow West Ham’s Winston Reid.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was relaxed about the possibility of losing star forward Sergio Aguero to suspension after television footage appeared to show him elbowing West Ham United’s Winston Reid yesterday.

Reid did not attempt to continue and was clutching his neck as he left the pitch, to be replaced by Jonathan Calleri.

If the referee did not see the incident, Aguero could be charged under the FA’s retrospective punishment rules and face a three-match ban.

Should a ban be imposed, Aguero could miss the derby date against arch-rivals United, which is next up for City on September 10, after the worldwide break.

“I didn’t see it at all”, he said. We are (still) going to play with 11′. Hopefully nothing happens. If it happens, we accept and adapt. “They started better, were quicker, more aggressive and were better on the second balls”, said Bilic. I am so happy he is playing good.

Asked what he had done for Sterling, Guardiola said: “Me?” He has scored six goals in five games this season.

The Hammers grew in confidence as they searched for an equaliser, but City also went close to a third as Samir Nasri and Sterling both missed late chances to wrap the game up before the latter rounded Adrian to net the third in injury time. “He said he got something to the throat”.

“I am new here so I don’t know how it works”, the Spaniard added. We wanted to change the shape.

“Man City were much better in the first half”. I think he is okay.
