Man City’s Hart laments ‘very lucky’ Real goal

‘Real Madrid were very lucky with their goal, a cross that deflected in off our player and it falls in the top corner.

“They created very little over the two legs, but so did we in fairness”.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is delighted for his players after their Champions League win against Manchester City. I think we controlled the game and we are happy we’re in the final.

Pep Guardiola will oversee a radical shake-up at Manchester City this summer in the wake of their Champions League semi-final exit to Real Madrid.

“Missing David Silva, [Samir] Nasri and Yaya [Toure] coming from an injury, we didn’t have creative players to make a difference”.

City were dealt an early blow when Vincent Kompany suffered a fresh injury concern and had to be withdrawn after just 10 minutes. “They could not kill it off, we defended well when needed, but we just didn’t have that little bit more”.

Hart produced a string of impressive saves to deny a Real side bolstered by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and that kept alive City hopes that they could nick an away goal and with it victory.

“We played against them two years ago and we remember how hard it was”, the Croatian said.

If Real Madrid win the champions League, Ronaldo will certainly be crowned the world best footballer.

Yet Ronaldo gave credit to himself and Luka Modric after the game.

Few would disagree. It sets up a revenge match of the 2014 final, the only match between the two sides Real has won since 2013, apart from a double in the 2014 Copa del Rey.

The England number one told BT Sport Europe: “We could easily have been in the final”. That’s why Real Madrid couldn’t create any chances.

Welshman Bale’s strike was enough to win the game, the forward’s cross-cum-shot taking a slight deflection off Fernando before hitting the far post and finding its way into the back of the net.

“At 1-0, City always had a chance”.

“They didn’t have the control of the match in any moment and they couldn’t score another goal, but neither could we”.
