It is believed he was brought to their attention by bosses at the Blues’ sister club, Melbourne City.

He told a newspaper in his homeland: “City is a massive club and this will be a once in a lifetime chance”.
He previously played for Queensland Lions before joining Brisbane in 2008.
Brattan joins a Bolton side who are bottom of the Sky Bet Championship, after picking up a mere nine points from 13 games after a very poor start.
Hull-born Brattan was named in the PFA A-League Team of the Season in 2013-14, but he has now opted to sever his ties with Roar and join the Citizens, via a spell at the Macron Stadium.
Earlier this month, Brattan was called up into the Australia squad for first time in his career for the 2018 World Cup qualifying match with Jordan.
After a dispute over not being paid, the midfielder was released during the run up to the 2015-2016 A-League season and since then has been linked with a move to Premier League giants, Manchester City.
There are a few surprised looks on the faces of Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern after hearing news that they have signed a new midfielder on a free transfer, formerly playing in the A-League.
