The unidentified male suspect, disguised in a Loomis armored transport uniform, reportedly fooled the van’s driver, who mistook the thief for a coworker, according to the Detroit Free Press.
“At this time, it looks like the suspect just walked away, He didn’t have a getaway vehicle” Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt.
“The good thing is that no one was hurt. But we will continue our investigation to ascertain who’s responsible and what happened”.
The theft took place along Beaubien near Monroe, not far from the Greektown Casino.

Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents questioned the driver and are going over surveillance footage, and the two agencies were working together in the search for the suspect. Casino security and local police describe the heist as freakish and are both actively investigating.
