A shooting at a popular Atlantic City shopping area left an Atlantic City police officer in surgery early Friday morning and a suspect dead. One of the officers was wounded and rushed to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where White says he is now undergoing surgery.

The officer was shot after a auto stop of three men near a parking garage of Caesars casino.
White says at least one of the men in the vehicle opened fire.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian called the shooting “a sad commentary on society”. “We ask for prayers for the officer, his family, and the Atlantic City Police Department”. According to police, the other suspects took off running.
