Man Fatally Wounded in Deputy-Involved Shooting in Castaic

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are responding to the 31900 block of Castaic Road, Castaic, to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting.

No suspects were outstanding, according to a news release disemnated to the media shortly after 10 p.m.

No weapons were recovered at the scene as of early Wednesday, ABC7 reported.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

The victim’s body was found on the sidewalk in front of the Rodeway Inn in Castaic.

The shooting is being investigated by Lt. Joe Mendoza of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, according to officials.

No further details were provided as of 10 p.m.

The shooting, like all deputy-involved shootings, will be reviewed by the sheriff’s homicide and internal affairs bureaus, as well as the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Drivers are reportedly be diverted between Parker Road and Lake Hughes Road.
