Sgt. Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, which provides police services in Cupertino, described the death of a male employee as an “isolated incident” that poses no broader public danger.
She said investigators would be looking at many factors that could have led to the apparent suicide, including Apple’s recent stock loss. The dispatcher goes on to say that Apple was advising law enforcement that there was a body in one of its conference rooms. The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s department is still investigating the dead body and shall reveal more information once the investigation is completed, reports NBC.
His death came on the day that Apple announced its first ever decline in iPhone sales.
An Apple employee has been found dead inside a conference room in the company’s headquarters at Cupertino, California.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner coroner’s office will determine the cause of death, according to the sheriff’s office. She said a handgun was used.
Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ suggests that a female employee with a head wound was escorted by Apple’s own security from the campus.
Apple did not immediately return a request for comment. A visitor has to sign in at reception, and get badges before proceeding inside.
Now, Apple has released a statement confirming that the deceased man was indeed an Apple employee.

It also mentioned they are assisting the co-workers of the man, whom they quoted, “young and talented”, coping over the incident.
