Man hits 88mph in DeLorean; Doesn’t go to the future, gets ticket
Last weekend, police arrested a 55-year-old man after they clocked him driving 88 miles per hour in his DeLorean outside of London, the Guardian reports. Needless to say, he was unable to escape the authorities by travelling through time, as we understand the vehicle wasn’t equipped with a flux capacitor.

The incident took place in November of previous year whereby Mr. Mills protested his innocence after receiving a court summons to Chelmsford Magistrates after two officers clocked him speeding.
According to The Telegraph, the driver, Nigel Mills, 55, said that he “wasn’t trying to time travel”. “It was at 11 AM on Sunday and the road was completely clear”, which sounds exactly like the kind of thing someone trying to time travel would say.
He’s clearly been studying the movies. I saw the guy with the speed gun and thought I check my speed.
Mills chose to fight the case, but it was ultimately thrown out after prosecution offered no evidence according to The Telegraph.
“Ironically, I was done for speeding in the auto that doesn’t get on the road much”, Mills said.
“I’m a guy who pays his taxes and sticks to the law, but I’m stuck at work with travellers in the vehicle park and the police won’t touch them”. “Ironically I was done for speeding in the auto that doesn’t get on the road much”.
A Back to the Future fan who was accused of driving his DeLorean at 88mph has successfully had his case thrown at court.
“I wasn’t trying to time travel”.
Mills’ fine was dropped after he fought it in court, but ranted on: “Why should I pay this speeding fine while they [travellers] would get away with it?”
Mills, who bought the 34-year-old DeLorean in 2004, said the cult classic is “a little rattly” with just over 13,000 miles on the odometer.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: ‘The officer involved in this incident is now deployed on specialist duties on a police operation. Mr. Mills quipped (as reported by the Mail Online).
