Man in court on charge linked to missing Missouri woman
Ken Yust, father of Kylr, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he hasn’t had a relationship with 27-year-old Kylr for years, because they often disagreed on matters, saying he’s heartbroken by his son’s “crappy decisions” and violence toward women.

For just a minute or two, Kylr Yust appeared before a Jackson County circuit judge Thursday afternoon.
Police say Yust is a person of interest in the 2007 disappearance of an ex-girlfriend, Kara Kopetsky, who was 17 when she vanished days after filing for a protection order against Yust.
Kopetsky’s mother, Rhonda Beckford, was in court Thursday as Yust made his first appearance.
Police continue to look for Runions and have searched the remote area in south Kansas City where officers found her vehicle early Saturday morning. A judge granted Kopetsky’s request and scheduled a hearing for May 10, 2007, but Kopetsky went missing six days before that. Runions was last seen leaving a gathering with Yust, who is a long-time friend of her boyfriend. Hours before she vanished, she and her parents had sought a protection order against Yust. The woman, who was 18 at the time of the incident, later won a protection order.
She’s also concerned that Yust was also involved in the disappearance of his former girlfriend Kara Kopetsky, who has not been seen since 2007.
“I’m unsure what he will do next, because the abuse has gotten worse over time”, read her protection order application, which also alleged Yust stalked her.
Yust turned 28 on Wednesday. Yust was arrested on Sunday morning, September 11, in Benton County, about two hours southeast of Kansas City.
The Latest on the disappearance of a Missouri woman and the man accused of burning her auto that had been found abandoned (all times local): 5:15 p.m. Kansas City area investigators looking into the disappearances of a woman and a teenager nine years apart say they’ve taken bullets and other items from the home of a man considered a person of interest in at least one case.
Another woman who was at the party said Yust arrived with Runions and that he was extremely drunk.
“We need to find Jessica, she’s been missing a week”, Beckford said.
During Yust’s brief court appearance Thursday, the judge also read Yust his rights and scheduled his next court appearance for September 29.
