Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said there were no signs of trauma on the body of Marvin Banks, who died Friday.
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office said emergency personnel performed CPR before he was transported to Forrest General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7.40pm.
Banks was charged with two counts of capital murder.
A MS man charged with shooting and killing two police officers in May was found unresponsive in his jail cell and later was pronounced dead, a sheriff’s office official said on Saturday.
Deen, 34, and Tate, 24, were making a traffic stop on May 9 when they were shot.
The cause of his death is under investigation. Banks was charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and with grand theft for fleeing in the police cruiser after the shooting.
Banks’ brother Curtis and girlfriend Joanie Calloway were also arrested by detectives after the murders.
