Auburndale Police have arrested all four individuals in the death of Adam Hilarie, 27, who was discovered dead in his apartment on Friday around 6:45 p.m. following a call about a suspicious death.
Police say Hilarie went on a date Thursday with 18-year-old Hailey Bustos after the two met on the dating site PlentyOfFish.
On Friday, Hilarie was found shot to death.
Auburndale police detectives charged and arrested Bustos, 18, of Auburndale; Andre Warner, 26, of Auburndale; Gary Terrell Gray, 31, of Lakeland; and Joshua Ellington, 26, of Lake Alfred. Jail records didn’t list attorneys.
Wall who has helped with thousands of relationships through Tampa Bay Match Makers says people should get to know each other over coffee, not just a keyboard.
Hilarie’s family, including his 5-year old daughter, is devastated. A few hours after the date, they said she showed up with Andre Warner, Joshua Ellington and Gary Gray.
Cruz hopes others will take a warning from this. While the majority of them probably aren’t using them for the wrong reasons, police say you need to be careful because some of them are. “There’s so many places that you can check people out now on the computer. It didn’t seem like it would have been the first time”, Ray said.
