HUGER, S.C. (AP) Authorities are looking for five men in connection with a home invasion that left a man dead and a woman injured in SC.
The man who lived at the residence was fatally shot.
The men fled the scene in a white 2004 Ford Crown Victoria and gray 2007 Crown Victoria that were stolen from the victim.
The sheriff’s department stopped the first auto on Highway 402 near Copperhead Road, but the occupants fled into the woods, where a search has begun.
Once they left, the woman called 911.
Officials say a man and woman had just gotten to their home on the 100 block of Martha Lane around 2:30 a.m. Thursday when the five approached and forced them inside.
The occupants of the vehicle fled into woods and are still being sought, deputies stated.
The female victim was transported to the MUSC and is being treated for unspecified injuries.
