Relatives mourn the killing of 52-year-old Muslim farmer Mohammad Akhlaq at his home in Bisara.
Gautam Budh Nagar SSP, Kiran S said during a press conference, “Around 800 armed forces, including a battalion of Provincial Armed Constabulary and police from Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr and Hapur, have been deployed in the village and the areas around it”.
“Such politics needs to be condemned”. A magisterial probe has been ordered into the clash.
“In last 15 months such incidents have been rising so also the trust deficit”, he said.
Akhlaq’s daughter Sajida said “My father was taken outside the house and beaten to death”.
Ikhlaq’s daughter said they only had mutton in their fridge, a gift from relatives on Eid. It was goat’s meet.
“What we want is justice”, she said.
The family alleged that the attackers also looted jewellery. A few Indian states, including the state of Utter Pradesh, have banned the sale and consumption of beef. As tension gripped the village and spread to nearby areas, another mob went on the rampage on Tuesday morning in Ooncha Amirpur – barely 5km from Bisada – demanding death penalty for those involved in cow slaughter. A youth identified as Rahul Yadav got injured in alleged police firing. Gautam Budh Nagar’s district magistrate N P Singh announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for the treatment of Danish.
Sharma said he has also organised a meeting between the two groups in the village in view of the tension there.
“It’s a painful incident”. Both the so-called groups belong to same village and are living there for years together.
He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries, police said. “The police did not react on time”. Meanwhile, officials have sent the meat samples for forensic tests. “Hundreds of people gathered in front of house on Monday night and started abusing us”, Asgari told TOI.

The family, however, has denied all allegations and has claimed that the story was concocted. “The situation is under control”, said the police chief.
