Man says he was arrested for not returning VHS rental
The 44-year-old comedian told the Daily News he’s willing to help out Meyers if the court follows through on a fine.

Meyer posted on his Facebook page that he didn’t return a VHS version of Tom Green’s “Freddy Got Fingered” in 2001 and noted that the video store closed down more than a decade ago. “Apparently you rented the movie ‘Freddie Got Fingered” and never returned it”,’ Meyers said.
After dropping his daughter off at school, Meyers went to the police station and turned himself in.
He said he called Meyers and when he got him on the phone, gave him the line from the movie, “Daddy, would you like some sausage?”
Approximately 25 minutes after the police officer made the stop, he returned to Meyers’ vehicle and asked him to step out of the auto.
Actor Tom Green, who starred in “Freddy Got Fingered”, is offering to pay it.
It’s been a while since Tom Green’s gotten in the director’s chair, but this would be a hell of a premise for his next movie.
‘That’s what my local police force are up to. Meyers, who works as a caterer, was transported to the Cabarrus County jail, where a magistrate judge subsequently released on a written promise to appear at an April 27 court hearing.
It’s been a really long time since anyone rented a movie on VHS.
Not returning rental property is a Class 3 misdemeanor in North Carolina and is punishable by a fine of up to £140 ($200), the New York Daily News reports.
The 37-year-old even sat and re-watched the goofball comedy on Wednesday, which stars Green as an unemployed cartoonist whose life is turned upside down when he begins spreading a awful rumor about his father.

Meyers said the officers were very polite and professional.
