The Dearborn Heights man accused in the massacre of four members of his family Wednesday morning faces 10 felonies, including four counts of first-degree murder, torture and unlawful imprisonment.
Green is accused of murdering his two children, Koi Green, 5, and Kaliegh Green, 4, with carbon monoxide by placing them in a auto in the garage and running the engine.
Neighbor Karen Radtke said the family moved in across the street from her home about three years ago, but she never interacted with them.
Killed were Gregory V Green’s stepdaughter, Kara Allen (left) and 19-year-old stepson Chadney J Allen (right).
The kids’ mother, Faith Green, was found bound and bleeding.
A man charged with killing his two children and two stepchildren in Dearborn Heights earlier this week appeared in court on Thursday, as more information about him is seemingly coming to light. She had asked for a personal protection order that same year but a judge dismissed the allegation as “insufficient”. He waited for them to arrive.
Krause said the woman is hospitalized in critical condition.
Corrections Department spokesman Chris Gautz says Green was charged with fatally stabbing his pregnant wife in 1991.
This isn’t the first time Gregory Green has been linked to a violent death. According to the local news outlet, the father allegedly used vehicle exhaust fumes to kill his six-year-old and four-year-old before placing them back in their beds.
She had filed for divorce in August.
“He was denied parole four times for various reasons, but they all centered around the main idea that he had not shown remorse for his crime, had not gained adequate insight, and had a lack of empathy”, Gautz said. “Words can’t explain what took place here”. “I think this sheds light on the fact that we need to start with trusting and believing victims”.
On Wednesday, Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office, said a warrant request has not been received yet.
Police Chief Lee Gavin said Michigan State Police evidence technicians are assisting with the investigation. It was a “shock”, she said, to find out what happened. Neighbors described the family as quiet and hardworking. They were having birthday parties for them and picnics over here and stuff and it seemed like they were all getting along.
