The report added that the police received a call from the parent of one of the teenagers the next day which confirmed the story of the teenagers were just playing Pokemon Go when they were shot at by the homeowner.

The New York Post reports that according to Flagler County Sheriff’s Office spokesman James Troiano, a man awoke at 1:30 am Saturday night to a noise.
“He armed himself with a handgun and went outside to investigate and as he approached the vehicle, he heard someone say something like “did you get anything”.
The mother told deputies the teens did not tell her about the incident until they saw the vehicle had a flat tire and bullet holes in the rear tire, hubcap and fender.
The guidelines issues by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office include best practice tips for Pokemon Go players.
Officials talked with the teens who said they were sitting in the auto hunting two Pokemon-a Marowak and Tauros. The man thought the kids were up to no good and whipped out his gun, only the kids were out collecting Pokemon in Pokemon Go. In the news release, the sheriff’s office warned homeowners to call 911 if they suspect someone breaking in and to avoid leaving the house to confront suspects.
Use common sense, be alert at all times and stay aware of your surroundings. Other advice was that they should always watch where they are going and that they should not ride their bikes, cars, or drive cars while also trying to operate the Pokemon Go app.

Do not trespass, go onto private property or into any area you usually would not if you weren’t playing Pokemon Go. Another incident arose when robbers in Missouri lured Pokemon Go players to a specific Pokestop and robbed them. The two teens shot at in Florida were lucky that playing the game did not cost them their lives.
