Man Shot By Tyngsboro Police In ‘Grave Condition’
CHELMSFORD-State Police detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Ofice are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in Chelmsford Saturday night.

A man shot by police after they said he dragged an officer with his auto Saturday night remains hospitalized Sunday.
Ryan said the incident began in Tyngsboro about 8:36 p.m. when a Tyngsboro officer attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop, only have to have the auto flee onto Route 3 south. The officer followed the suspect down Route 3.
Investigators taped off the area near Sully’s Ice Cream Stand in Chelmsford following a police-involved shooting Saturday night. The man pulled into a parking lot, but backed out when the Chelmsford officer approached, catching him on the vehicle door and dragging him.
Chelmsford High School shortly after 9 p.m., and said they came out to see what was happening after hearing at least one gunshot earlier. The Tyngsborough officer then shot the man twice. The sergeant was brought to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released.

Per department policy, the Tyngsborough officer that used his weapon is now on administrative leave.
