The shooting happened in the Rinmore Drive area at about 10.30pm.

“I waited a wee minute because I wasn’t sure if I should go out or not but I did and other neighbours were already out too. I saw the family, I spoke to them, I know them very well, they’d be friends of mine”, he said.
“The man was lying on the ground at the corner and he was a sorry sight”.
He said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information”.
Sinn Féin councillor Kevin Campbell spoke to the man’s parents and said they were in “shock”.
Police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was shot in both ankles and his thigh in the Rinmore Drive area of Derry.

A man was this morning being treated in hospital after being shot in both legs in Derry on Tuesday night.
