Gardaí say that they would like to speak to anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in or around Blackhorse Ave or Regal Park between 4pm and 6pm yesterday evening.
The extent of his injuries are not yet known, although it is believed he received a gunshot to the head.

The scene was sealed off for an examination by Garda forensic experts.

The pub and restaurant were later closed as gardai began an investigation.
