Man shot on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, dies at hospital
That block of Bourbon Street is near several restaurants, bars and hotels. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Brandon Robinson.

“Based on the video, the victim was in a fistfight with a group outside of the Prohibition Bar”, said Harrison.
Finally, just after 5 p.m., police say Dillon surrendered and neighbors were let back in their homes. One of the suspects punched the man before another pulled out a gun and shot him in the stomach. Flot says they found the victim, an adult male from the New Orleans area, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. “We exhausted, kids hungry, you know, they’re taking forever to get in there”, said a neighbor who chose to remain nameless.
A news release says officers patrolling the Quarter were on the scene within seconds of the gunfire. “Our officers were nearby and cleared the area almost immediately”, said Harrison. “So, the response was immediate. And he apparently did this, knowing that we were loaded with police right there in that block”.
Robinson died on the way to a hospital.
New Orleans police fanned out Friday across the French Quarter expecting thousands of people to turn out for a busy Bayou Classic weekend.
NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said that police are out in full force this weekend.
