Before Sells was shot, police said, Rodriguez had held a gun to the head of Lester Peters of Lufkin.

“Every day, every moment that I’m here without him in my life will be loss, empty, devastated moments”, said Gunning.

“Today my mother and his family are going to go say our final goodbyes to the greatest man I’ve ever known”, she said in a statement. “We just wanted to say thank you for your love, support and prayers”. He planned to get married next month.

Sells was shot during a fight in Lot 10 of the stadium parking lot about 8:20 p.m., almost two hours after the Dallas Cowboys lost to the New England Patriots.

The victim’s family spoke exclusively with CBSDFW.COM on Wednesday.

Marvin Rodriguez, 28, of Dallas was arrested at the scene Sunday. Now that Sells has passed away, it is likely that the charges will be upgraded to murder.

A GoFundMe page set up in the wake of the incident indicated that Sells was engaged and expecting a daughter.
