Man ‘tastes’ his own flesh by cooking thigh muscle removed in biopsy
Scientist Greg Foot was keen to find out how human flesh tastes as compared to other meats.

A microscopic analysis of Foot’s connective tissue was done before it was chemically tested and cooked in a machine that traps aroma.
In this video, Greg Foot has a biopsy of muscle taken from his leg in order to discover what it tastes like.
Travelling to a laboratory in Nottingham for part of the documentary, he says: “The truth is, it’s illegal to eat human flesh, even your own – but there is still a way to nail the taste”. Eighty per cent of all taste comes from smell. “It’s really meaty… a lot richer than pork or chicken”, Foot says in the video, according to the Mail.
Although the first sniff of his own cooked leg meat caused Foot to gag, once he got past the initial gore-factor the presenter admitted that his leg meat “smelled quite nice”. With this scientific comparison, researchers then came up with a “recipe” of different meats that would taste most like human flesh.
Researchers relied on the aroma of human flesh to recreate a sample, which they claimed measures at about 80 percent of the real taste. “It’s good. It’s really beefy… a bit lamb-y”, he said.
You can watch the whole process in the video included below. I’m not saying we should put this guy on a watch list, but, uh, you know, let’s hope none of his neighbors go missing.
Warning: This footage is not for the squeamish. Along the way, Foot gets struck by lightning and reportedly “goes to the moon” using helium balloons.

Mr Foot runs a YouTube channel called BritLab where he conducts science experiments for his 500,000 followers.
