Man tests positive for Zika virus after visit overseas
Some babies with no immediate signs of problems also have been born in the U.S.to Zika-infected mothers. Several of those cases involve residents from the Tampa Bay area.

“Our local, state and territorial health departments are on the front lines in the fight against Zika, and though the necessary funding that is needed isn’t yet available, we can not wait to provide this essential support”, Dr. Tom Frieden, CDC director, said in a prepared statement.

According to the World Health Organization, In an outbreak that started past year, about 1.5 million people have been infected with Zika in Brazil, and more than 1,600 babies born with microcephaly. Orange County has documented 33 travel-related cases.
US health officials have concluded that Zika infections in pregnant women can cause microcephaly, a birth defect marked by small head size that can lead to severe developmental problems in babies.
FDOH confirmed the recent birth of a baby with microcephaly in Florida.

The researchers collected 119 blood samples with permission from people suspected of Zika virus infection.
