Coeur d’Alene police say Kyle Andrew Odom was arrested at the White House on Tuesday at 8:27 p.m., after Secret Service personnel saw him throwing objects over the south fence. Hazardous materials and bomb teams were working to identify the other items, he said.

Agents apprehended Kyle Odom without problems, Coeur d’Alene police Chief Lee White said Tuesday night. The 30-year-old is being held on an extraditable attempted murder warrant out of Idaho.

Remington had led a prayer at a Cruz rally on Saturday and was shot by Odom, an ex-marine, the next day in the church parking lot in a preplanned attack, police said. Police Chief White said that the second pastor is now under police protection. The shooting immediately drew national attention because the pastor had delivered the opening prayer at a Ted Cruz campaign event just 24 hours prior. But his vehicle was found in Boise and secured by law enforcement officials, he said.

“There were a number of people listed in that manifesto”. Police arrived at the Altar Church around 2:00pmPT to find Pastor Tim Remington in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, says Detective Jared Reneau. “There were a number of USA senators and House representatives, along with some Israeli government officials”, White said.

Earlier on Tuesday, a message was posted on Odom’s Facebook account saying that he had to shoot Remington because he was a Martian and “the reason my life was ruined”, reported local television station KXLY.

“It was extensive and it was disturbing to us”, White said.

White also read a statement from Odom’s family members, who said they were completely unaware of Odom’s plans and asked for privacy.

In it, he says the world is ruled by “an ancient civilization from Mars”, describing Remington as “one of them”.

Odom had sent a letter to his parents along with a flash drive containing multiple electronic documents, authorities said.

Meanwhile, Pastor Tim Remington, shot six times Sunday outside his church in Coeur d’Alene, has regained consciousness and is talking with his family, an associate said Tuesday.

Police have not found any information indicating the shooting was politically motivated.

“We’ve been waiting for somebody who represented God for a long time”, Remington said at the rally.

“We are truly thankful to God he is safe and no one else has been injured”.
