Man United laziest side in English Premier League

Aside from attempting to retain its Premier League title, Claudio Ranieri’s team are in the Champions League for the first time and likely will not be too concerned about exiting a competition of the least importance.

Everton failed to transfer its strong Premier League form to the English League Cup on Tuesday, losing at home to Norwich while Liverpool and Arsenal dealt better with lower-league opposition in the third round on Tuesday.

“They are simply not in City’s league from what we have been shown so far”.

Manchester United’s season has stalled over the past seven days following three consecutive defeats and the ‘Distance Covered’ Premier League table may indicate the reason why.

Sky Sports pundit and former Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce believes that Liverpool now occupy a false position in the Premier League table. Having edged past third-tier Shrewsbury in the last round, the Black Cats will be keen to avoid a potential upset at Loftus Road, a result which would place the stuggling Moyes under severe pressure, with the Scot having become Sunderland’s fifth permanent manager since March 2013 upon his appointment.

Meanwhile, Manchester City welcome Bournemouth to the North West and West Ham travel to West Bromwich. Without a win this month, the Gills should not pose a serious threat to the Lilywhites, despite Justin Edinburgh’s insistence that his charges will not roll over for their more illustrious opponents.

Liverpool have played some of the bigger and more competitive teams in the Premier League already this season. Liverpool is a record eight-time League Cup victor, while Chelsea is joint-second in the all-time list of trophy winners with five titles.
