Man United target Oxford keen to extend West Ham deal

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has justified the club’s decision for making Ghana global Andre Ayew the club record signing.

“We showed against the big teams away from home last season that we were capable of getting a result and there is no reason we can not do the same thing again”, Gold insisted.

But Gold has been trying to make a case for Ayew being the striker the club needs in a somewhat desperate attempt to curry the favour of fans.

He claims to have told one of his chief scouts that they need to go there early to sign a player or offer more money than anyone else.

“Andre certainly gives Slaven options, and he is a game changer”. Fans want to know that brands associated with the football club are behind the team 100%, unless the brand’s image is in some way compromised by the behaviour of a player.

Sofiane Feghouli is also struggling with a hamstring injury, while Dimitri Payet will continue to be eased back into action after starting on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
