According to the Independent Petit stated that Manchester United will be “wasting money” if they spend £100m to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.
After the Madrid shirt came out of the bag, he said that they are “the white house – which won the Champions League this year, a great club”.
After Real Madrid ended their interest in Pogba, Manchester United have been given the green light to secure a record-breaking transfer fee for the 23-year-old, worth around a total of €120 million.
They will be encouraged then to hear Pogba address United as “my first family” after being asked about the club, although he went on to stress that Juventus are “my current family”. We’ll see. For now I’m at Juventus and I’m happy.
Finally, as the Manchester United shirt was offered to him, the Frenchman jokingly stated: “I don’t know this one”.
New United manager Jose Mourinho has already completed the signings of defender Eric Bailly, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Portuguese recently stated his desire to wrap up his transfer business swiftly. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was little. For the moment, I am not really convinced, ‘ added Petit.
