Man Utd coach Frans Hoek: Pedro? We’ll see

Louis van Gaal has identified the Spain forward as the outgoing Angel di Maria’s replacement, however Hoek was coy on the prospect of an imminent move.

Manchester United coach Frans Hoek has hinted that the club might be in for Pedro Rodriguez.

Manchester United are ready to pay Adama Traore’s £10.6million release clause to sign him from Barcelona, according to reports.

Valdes, 33, looks set to depart Old Trafford just six months into his 18-month stay at the club.

Due to the prolific goalscoring form of MSN (Messi, Suarez, Neymar) for Barcelona last season, Pedro found first team football for Barca few and far between, reportedly triggering Pedro’s desire to leave the Nou Camp in search of regular playing time.

“[On Victor Valdes’ exile from United], I don’t like to talk about negative things”.

“He was also coach of our team and we know how strong, intelligent and clever he is, how he gets the best that is possible from his players, and United are going to be one of the top clubs this year, I’m sure”.

Hoek now has a new goalkeeper to work with at United in the Argentine Sergio Romero, whose free transfer was confirmed in the early hours of Monday morning.

Manchester United may have turned their attention to free agent goalkeeper Sergio Romero to replace Victor Valdes, meaning De Gea may remain at Old Trafford.

“We will see”, Hoek replied.
