Man Utd urged to sack Louis van Gaal and appoint Ryan Giggs
Manchester United’s insistence on playing possession football under manager Louis van Gaal means they take far more passes for every shot than any other Premier League team, statistics released on Monday showed.

Overall, Van Gaal’s side has won only three of their past 13 matches, and have scored just 11 goals in that period.
Although he is expected to fly to Portugal to spend some time with his family this week, Mourinho has no plans to take a sabbatical and United are thought to be one of four big European clubs the 52-year-old would consider joining. If he doesn’t think Van Gaal has the total support of the dressing room then there’s no point keeping him in the job.
Back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Norwich City have seen the Red Devils slip out of the Premier League top four, and combined with their early elimination from the Champions League, time is certainly running out for the Dutchman.
Supporters at Old Trafford in the Saturday’s match even chanted Jose Mourinho’s name as Van Gaal’s replacement.
Sir Bobby Charlton, a Manchester United legend, director and ambassador has made it clear before that Mourinho’s antics would be out of step with the values of a Manchester United manager.
The United hierarchy aren’t completely convinced by Mourinho, despite his outstanding record, and hold reservations over his failure to develop young players and his penchant to clash with referees and the Football Association. The chemistry between the players and the manager and his staff is very important. We need to stick together, there’s nothing else you can do. I think that is only right and proper – he needs and deserves to have that opportunity.
Mourinho is desperate to succeed him after being sacked by Chelsea last week while Pep Guardiola yesterday sparked a scramble for his signature after Bayern Munich confirmed he will quit the German giants in the summer.
Van Gaal reportedly has another two games, a trip to Stoke and a home clash against Chelsea, to save his job.

United play away to Stoke City on Saturday and at home to Chelsea two days later. The fear of again missing out on a manager with such pedigree may well lead to Van Gaal being ushered swiftly out the door.
