Man who once needed blood to save his own life – now become the saviour by donating blood and saving almost 2 million kids
A man who once needed blood to save his own life when he was teen – now become the saviour by donating his blood and saving almost 2 million babies, for several years.

It has been reported that the 78 year old man, James Harrison, is also known as “The Man with the Golden Arm” just because in last 60 years, he donating his blood regularly and yet have saved almost 2 million babies.
He said in talk that when he was of 14, he had a chest operation, which needed 13 units of blood.
Once he became healthy again – his father told him the story how they managed to get 13 units of blood.
He that time said that he will become blood donor in future.
But James decision of donating blood became much more important as his blood was extra-special.
A doctor explained that at that time (in late 60s) a disease called ‘rheusus disease’ was killing thousands of babies – and only James blood was found with its antidote, which could save their lives.
He along with few doctors, invented an injection called Anti-D, for babies who were rheusus positive.
Because of him, Australia became one of the first country who invented antidote of the disease.
And he yet have saved almost 2 million babies.
