Last month, a 25 thousand dollar scratcher was sold; previous year, a 30 thousand dollar ticket.

“I could not believe it. I had to ask the clerk at the store, and he said, ‘You better check it again on the machine, ‘ ” Meadows told lottery officials of his November 23 win.

Meadows said he plays the lottery four or five times a week and previously won $1,000 on two tickets.

Just moments after winning $1,000 on a lottery scratcher, a Modesto man learned he was the victor of a $10 million prize.

Winning the lottery is just plain hard to do – unless you’re Rodney Meadows. “It couldn’t have happened to a better guy”.

“I said to [Meadows], “I knew you were going to do it”.

“He plays compulsively every day”, a fellow Fast Mart customer tells KCRA.

“Someone came in and bought three so he bought the last three and the third one that was the 10 million”.

Making the double win even more striking, is the fact that Meadows, who says he has not made any decisions yet on how to spend his winnings, has won $1,000 twice before. One customer said she won $1,000 one time on a crossword puzzle.

Meadows hit it big by winning $10 million on one of the other lottery tickets.
