Manchester airport evacuated after suspicious package found in departure area
But the bag has been described as “suspect” according to the Manchester Evening News, who also say the bag was seen to be left in the vehicle park at Terminal two between 6pm and 7pm.

Passengers were evacuated from both arrivals and departures in terminal 2 after the unattended bag was spotted outside the building.
He said: ‘The people leaving for flights have not been allowed to leave the departure lounge either.I tried to walk towards my vehicle and a guy from the airport said to get away from the glass.
He later added: “Member of staff just told me that bomb squad are on their way”.
Hundreds of passengers are now waiting for their flights outside the main terminal building.
People are reportedly “acting calmly” and following instructions by airport staff. “Any passengers checking into to should do so at the station”.
One man even reported that he had been told by staff to “stay away from glass” during the apparent evacuation.
The terminal has been duly evacuated and cordoned off as a precaution.

Flights are continuing to operate as normal.
