Manchester City are going for 9 in a row against “Baggies”

City have endured their own problems in attack – they have scored just 11 goals in their past eight league games – but the return of Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has come at just the right time.

City have given themselves a great chance of progressing against the Ligue 1 champions after drawing 2-2 at the Parc des Princes in Wednesday’s quarterfinal first leg.

However, speaking ahead of City’s home game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Pellegrini has insisted that he is yet to discuss a potential move with any new club.

West Brom boss, Tony Pulis: “We are delighted that, with seven games to go, we have 40 points”.

Louis van Gaal’s side are fifth in the Premier League table with 53 points after 31 matches, trailing fourth place Manchester City by a point.

Samir Nasri: The Frenchman has endured a tough season in which his opportunities have been seriously limited due to injuries.

“There appears to be little margin for error to make sure Pep Guardiola has Champions League football to look forward to next season but, while Sergio Aguero is fit and firing, they look to be in the driving seat”.

The England Under-21 worldwide has started Albion’s past six Premier League matches, scoring once to take his tally in all competitions up to seven for the season, and he has double figures in his sights over the remaining seven matches this term.

“We have a lot of points to recover – it’s not easy for all of the teams above us to lose points but we won’t give up and we’ll keep trying while it’s still possible. We will do our best on Sunday and hopefully we can get there”.

Callum McManaman was sent off for West Brom’s Under-21 side against Aston Villa in midweek but will be available to Pulis after his comeback from an ankle ligament problem. “We won the last two games so we want to continue on this way”.
