Manchester City Captain Vincent Kompany Vows to Overcome Injuries
Skipper Vincent Kompany will miss Manchester City’s trip to Leicester on Tuesday after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury.

Pellegrini said City are trying to understand why the 29-year-old is having so many injury setbacks and are unsure of when he may return.
.
The defender was making his long-awaited comeback from injury but was forced out of the game a few minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Kompany’s absence was sorely felt in their 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the league at the Emirates, where mistakes from both defenders led to goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud.
“He is very important because first of all he is the captain”, said Pellegrini. But that is a medical problem I can not answer. “Now it is my time to make some big decisions about that squad, and think about the January window and ask ‘who can we bring in?’ and ‘who am I going to move out?'”. City have conceded just one league goal when he has been on the field, and 19 when he has not.
The Belgium global has featured in nine league matches so far this term while managing to score two goals for his club in the process.
“We can not think that all the [defensive] mistakes are just because Vincent isn’t playing”. City have invested £74m in Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolás Otamendi, making them the two most expensive centre-backs in Premier League history, but neither has proved an adequate replacement for Kompany.
“This year we’re involved in all the competitions without him”.
“And we won titles, and won during the last six games without him too”. It will probably have to be overseas.
Manchester City ran riot against Sunderland, winning 4-1 and even missing a penalty. Midfielder David Silva was credited with the assist on the goal.
Wilfried Bony of Manchester City celebrates with teammate Kevin De Bruyne after scoring the team’s third goal against Sunderland on Saturday.
‘I will get on with it and when I do come back. City argue they have prepared for such eventualities, but the figures show Kompany’s injuries have considerable consequences.

“Our team with him is stronger, but without Vincent we must try to continue being competitive”. “We need to show that we want to stay up”. “We need to win at home, we need to get confidence”. “People talk about it, but I don’t care how much money City spend”, said the winger. “If we win, it doesn’t matter about other clubs”. I look at myself and the team during the week.
