Manchester City on title track, believes Pellegrini
Manuel Pellegrini, the Manchester City manager, has admitted that the club’s inconsistency in the first half of the campaign would already have ruled them out of the Barclays Premier League title race in any ordinary season.

Man City last went seven successive Premier League away games without a win in December 2009. “It’s hard for me to answer these questions because I repeat again, I am not a doctor”, he said.
The partnership of Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala has often looked unconvincing in Kompany’s absence, and so their success in keeping quiet the prolific attacking threat posed by Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will have offered encouragement for Pellegrini.
Manchester City are unbeaten against the Hornets in the last eight encounters in all competitions (W6 D2).
Examining a trio of goalless draws, he said: “Against Aston Villa I think we were very unlucky not to win, against Manchester United was a very close game as normal and was a good draw, and the last game against Leicester I don’t think we played badly”.
“We didn’t win at Arsenal but I don’t think we played a bad game”. We played very well against Sunderland and I think we played very well also against Leicester. We are not really thinking of any particular player to bring in.
“For me, it is important to think about Bournemouth and what we can do for the next month”.
Pellegrini, speaking at his press conference to preview the game, said: “Fabian Delph and Clichy have worked normally”.
The move has an added bonus in that it would weaken Leicester, who is tied with Arsenal at 39 points at the top of the table.
Watford will be coming into this game after their recent loss against Tottenham on Monday.
“Of course we are in a good position”.
“There’s a lot of things we must decide about what is the problem. Always the best position is to be top of the table but I think that this is a special season in the Premier League”, he told reporters.
Their 2.15 points per game beat Arsenal’s 2.13 and Middlesbrough’s 2.02 – the only three teams to earn more than two points per game in 2015. “At this minute he is playing but I didn’t want him to play more than 65 minutes”.
